Inquiry

Inquiry is an integrated approach to the humanities taught in the Max Open Learning Centres at 7, 8 and 9.

The students look at broad issues beginning with a big question where elements of History, Geography, Economics and Civics and Citizenship are weaved to combine with the students interest and learning styles to help them understand their rights and responsibilities as 21st century global citizens.

Inquiry allows for project based learning that strongly links to our local and global communities and the projects get increasingly complex as students’ progress.

At year 9 all students complete a community based project and some qualify to do their project overseas where the skills of understanding historical and geographical contexts along with complex socio-economic problems are put to the test.

Our students complete inquiry equipped to not only understand the world around them, but how to become agents of change in the 21st century at local and global levels.
